LILU - The Lucerne Light Festival

Enjoy wonderful light installations created by various national as well as international artists, some specifically designed for Lucerne.

Stroll freely and for free across squares and through alleys, discovering something new at every turn.

The installations inside one of the beautiful churches, accompanied by suitable music, require an admission fee.

February

Carnival, the time fifth season in Lucerne!

Experience the fcity with lots of music, magnificent costumes, and 'Grinden' (masks), as well as wagons created with great imagination.

On Thursday before Mardi Gras, at 5:00 AM, Carnival begins with the 'Big Bang' and ends the following Tuesday evening with the so-called Monster Parade, the procession of Guggenmusik bands.

"Luzern Live" The festival with countless concerts in and in front of the KKL, in the pavilion, as well as in and in front of the Hotel Schweizerhof. A shuttle boat takes you easily from one side of the lake to the other.

With the wristband (25.-- for 10 festival days), you can enjoy the events at the public squares, at the Schweizerhof, on the terrace of the KKL, and on the shuttle boat.

Of course, good food and drinks are also part of the experience. Stalls can be found around the Lucerne lake basin.

October

At the Lucerne Autumn Fair, the Määs, young and old come together to explore the market stalls and, of course, to ride the various rides.

The Ferris wheel, which is always in front of the KKL, offers a wonderful view of the city, the lake, and the mountains.

December

"Eiszauber" with the ice rink on Europaplatz in front of the KKL. Enjoy the wonderful Christmas atmosphere with concerts while sipping a warming mulled wine.

At Rudolf's Christmas, the culinary Christmas market behind the KKL, you can indulge in many different delicacies from around the world.

Around the Franziskaner Church is the Lucerne Christmas market where you can, of course, also enjoy the traditional mulled wine.
